Curative effect of radix dichroa extractive on coccidiosis in chicken artificially infected by Eimeria tenella

In order to investigate the curative effect of radix dichroa extractive(RDE) on coccidiosis in chicken,a certain percentage of drugs was added to chicken diet after artificially infected with Eimeria tenella,the test were divided into 7 groups including RDE group(200,100 and 50 mg/kg respectively),jiqiuchongsan group(300 mg/kg),diclazuril group(1 mg/kg),infected control and healthy control.Compared with infected control,the results showed that swelling of cecum and duodenum in drug treatments were significantly alleviated and blood contents were significantly reduced.The anticoccidial index of drug treatments were 171.98,169.18,169.01,163.84 and 166.74 respectively,which were up to medium anticoccidial level.The results suggested that RDE as a kind of herbal extract is expected to become new anticoccidial drugs because of good anticoccidial effect,natural from source,low toxicity and residue.
