The Dispersion Effect of Carbon Nanotubes on the Viscoelastic Properties of Epoxy by Perez Model

Thisarticledescribestheadditionofmulti-walledcarbonnanotubes(MWCNT)intotheepoxyaswell asdispersingmediaduringfabricationwereusedasfactorstoinvestigatetheviscoelasticproperties ofepoxy/MWCNTnanocomposite.Thequalityofthedispersionwasevaluatedthroughstudyingthe rheologicalandviscoelasticproperties.ThePerezmodelwasthenappliedtoanalyzetheviscoelastic behavior.Also,activationenergyoftheglasstransitionrelaxationwascalculated.Moreover,scanning electronmicroscopywasusedtocharacterizethedispersionstateofMWCNT.Theresultsshowed thatthebestrheologicalandviscoelasticpropertieswereobtainedfor1wt.%MWCNTdispersedin epoxyinthepresenceofsolvent.
