Study on statistical damage and failure of pavement under fatigue load

Based on damage mechanics and the stress-strain curve of pavement material, this paper developed a statistical damage constitutive model reflecting the full process of pavement failure. And the statistical damage variable of pavement was modified reasonably, so the statistical damage constitutive model was more suitable for general condition. The reduction in strength of pavement and the condition of fatigue failure were analyzed in the process of fatigue, the result was obtained that the fatigue failure was in connection with the degree of pavement damage and stress. The computation method of probability of fatigue failure was made according to the fact of reduction in strength and its law. So the research can provide a basic reference for pavement prediction, evaluation and optimization of maintenance dicision, then preferable value of service and economic benefit can be made.
