Design of two novel low power over temperature protection circuits

The over temperature protection circuits are adopted to monitor the IC(integrated circuit) temperature in power management chip.When the temperature exceeds a threshold,the over temperature protection circuit outputs a fault signal,and the device stops operating to prevent it from overheating.In order to realize the function of the over thermal protection circuit,two over temperature protection circuits are proposed,which can accurately monitor the IC temperature with low power consumption.The circuits were designed with 0.5 μm N-Well CMOS process,and simulated with Cadence Spectre.The simulation results show that each of the two proposed circuits consumes only 3 μA current to achieve accurate temperature detection.They have strong adaptability,high sensitivity,high precision and bright application prospect.
