Grain preferred orientation of Al and Al alloys through cryogenic treatment

The effects of cryogenic treatment for twelve kinds of commercial Al alloys were investigated at 80 K for 47~60 h. Results show that there are changes of diffraction peak intensity of some crystal plans (i.e. texture)in these alloys under long time cryogenic treatment. The grain preferred orientation is sufficiently corroborated by XRD results of the high purity capacitor Al foil before and after cryogenic treatment. The axile density of crystallography plans ( ρ (HKL)) and diffraction crystallography fraction ( A (HKL)) were calculated and the mechanism of grain preferred orientation was investigated in the paper. Grain preferred orientation depends on alloys components and engineering process. [
