Merimbla ingelheimense (van Beyma) Pitt is described for the anamorphic state of Talaromyces avellaneus C.R. Benjamin, a holomorphic fungus. Diagnostic features are discussed, together with a key for distinguishing Merimbla from Aspergillus, Geosmithia, Paecilomyces, Penicillium, and Raperia.
