The linearity of the characteristic of Hall generators is as better approximated, as smaller the geometrical influence of the current- and Hall electrodes is. A calculation of these influences shows, that there exist narrow boundaries, due to technological difficulties, for the production of Hall generators with small errors of linearity having rectangular shape. In comparison with the classical rectangular shape cross-shaped electrical systems even with small geometrical influences can be produced easier. The residual influences of geometry in such systems are calculated and experimentally investigated at several semiconductors. For Hall generators with cross-shaped systems out of In(As0,8P0,2) in the magnetic field region from 0 to 10 kG and from 0 to 20 kG the error of linearity was measured to be 0·3000 and 0·8000.
