MANOMETRIC X RADIATION ACTINOMETER AND THE EFFECT OF X RADIATION ON THE FERMENTATION OF CANCER CELLS

The anaerobic fermentation of ascites cancer cells, suspended in Ringer's solution at low cell densities, was inhibited by x-radiation doses of 1000 r at 54%. With the help of these fermentation tests'' it was found that the radiation effect can be reduced by the hydrogen peroxide which the radiation produces in the cell suspension. A manometric x-radiation actinometer was developed for these investigations. (tr-auth)
