Construction automation based on parts and packets unification

Abstract This paper describes a data management system for parts-oriented construction based on the concept of “parts and packets unification.” Data of each component should be updated according to a change in the status of the component or composed module. An ID device is attached to each component to establish a strong relation between the components and their information. An operation server uses a reference table to relate the data to the composed module using the ID of any device attached to each composed module. The server manages the component data according to the task result such that other robots can obtain the information required in the next phase. A robot can acquire both the present data of the composed module and the data of each component history. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
