Research on Launching Process of Interception Projectile in Steerable Electromagnetic Launcher

Steerable electromagnetic(EM) launching technology is a key technology of the EM armor.The principle and the makeup of the steerable EM launcher(SEML) were introduced in this paper.The circuit equation,the dynamical equation,the motion equation were deduced and mathematical model of launching process of the interception projectile was established.In order to analyze the movement law of interception projectile during the launching process,a numerical analysis method for acceleration process of the interception projectile was given.With finite element analysis code launching process of the interception projectile was simulated and laws of velocity of the projectile and its displacement versus time were also investigated.Launching experiment of interception projectile was accomplished and velocity of the projectile was measured.The results show that experimental data are well matched with the simulation results.
