In order to investigate the static behavior of channel beam,this paper made a model test for a channel shape precast prestressed concrete beam,which is loaded by considering two different engineering conditions of the maximum bending moment at the middle span and the maximum shear at the beam end respectively,obtained the stress and deformation for control section of test model,and studied the mechanical property of channel beam through adopting the nonlinear finite element analysis.The results showed that shear lag effect of the channel beam which has the feature of open thin-walled member is prominent as well as space plate effect of the backplane,and the structure of channel beam is in linear elastic state under the design loads and has certain security reserve.
