A FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM TO VOLTAGE/VAR CONTROL IN DMS - DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This paper demonstrates the feasibility of the concept of fuzzy controller for voltage control or loss minimization. Cascading Mamdani controllers are used together with sensitivities derived after a fuzzy clustering process over voltage profiles. Three to four iteration steps with a Newton-Raphson power flow routine are enough to recover voltages into admissible bands, demonstrating the efficiency of the approach.
