A Practical Study on the Information Sharing System for Producers

Previous researches have shown that the environment of agricultural producers needs to be enriched, and factors that help agriculture to become attractive and rewarding need to be pursued. One such approach is believed to be an audible connection with the consumers. However, there remains a need to determine how such connections between producers and consumers will be established. By identifying, planning, and shaping the environment in which information from both sides is presented, the QOL and the value of products may be improved for producers, while providing reassurance to and building trust with the consumers. Past efforts have involved the development of a network involving producers and local roadside stations. Therefore, in this study, we conducted interviews with producers as well as performed a nationwide online survey. We developed the design of a new information system with which various types of producers and consumers are connected. Then, we performed a proof-of-concept test, after which we set numerical assessment baselines for the improvement in the QOL, and designated and measured the value of produce, reassurance, and trust. Finally, we verified the effectiveness of the proposed system.
