Studies on ferricytochrome c. I. Effect of pH, ionic strength and protein denaturants on the spectra of ferricytochrome c.

Formamide, ethane 1,2-diol and dioxane technical grade, were obtained from Hopkin and Williams Ltd. The first two were used without further purification but dioxane was refluxed with hydrochloric acid followed by distillation over sodium metal to remove peroxides. All other chemicals used were AnalaR grade and all solutions were made up using double distilled water.
