Metamodeling as an effective tool for the description of 2D superlattice photonic crystals

The spectral properties of reflective mirrors based on two-dimensional (2D) subwavelength superlattice photonic crystals (PhC) are investigated numerically in the visible wavelength range. These reflectors are meant to be made of silica and silicon nitride. Our objective is to present a novel numerical strategy coupled with a metamodeling tool. This novel technique is used in order to determine the optimal geometry parameters related to the PhC yielding an efficient level of reflectance through the maximal range of wavelengths.
