Stability study for the Vietnam power system

The Vietnam power system is in phase of development. Due to the increase in the size by introducing the new power plants and new transmission lines in the Vietnam power system, the stability of this system becomes more complex. There are the interactions of different power plants and the oscillations of generators between Northern and Southern regions. This is why the stability must be studied in detail in order to ensure a security and safety in the operation and to find the solutions to improve the stability of the system. In this paper the stability study for this system is presented. In order to improve the stability, the application of FACTS devices such as TCSC and SVC are investigated.
