Project of 30 GHz Compact Low-voltage Gyrotron

The possibility of developing a simple, low-voltage 30 GHz gyrotron packaged in warm magnet with moderate power consumption is discussed. For various operating modes, the design of both gyrotron tube and magnetic system are analyzed. Based on the tradeoff between microwave output power and magnet powerconsumption, the modes TE01 and TE12 are chosen due to acceptable efficiency and small diameter of magnet bore. According to simulations, the gyrotron with the operating voltage of 5 kV can provide 250 W of output power.
