Performance analysis on the linear minimum mean squared error (LMMSE) estimate-based multiuser detectors for CDMA communications

We analyze the performance of linear minimum mean squared error (LMMSE) estimate-based multiuser detector for CDMA communication systems. Remarkable consistency is achieved through numerical evaluation of our analytical results and computer simulations. We also compare the performance of the LMMSE detector and the adaptive bootstrap multiuser detector. Our analyses and simulations show that even though these two detectors were proposed based on different optimization criteria, they exhibit approximately equal performance in multiuser CDMA communication applications.
