Modeling and simulation of lithium-ion battery with hysteresis for industrial applications

Accurate battery model will characterize its real world performance in different industrial complex system modeling. Exactness of the battery model depends on the number of parameters considered which affect the performance of the battery. In this paper lithium battery model is developed in Simulink environment in order to investigate the battery voltage performance for industrial system modeling. The developed battery model considers battery hysteresis effect in order to get accurate performance. The obtained results are compared with the results of previous study to account the advantage of considering hysteresis effect. This model can be added as a sub-system to other sub-system models of electric vehicles, industrial battery applications like medical instruments, power tools in simulation; can be extended for other lithium type batteries due to its ease of implementation.
