Ganzheitliche Betrachtung innovativer Fahrzeugantriebe und alternativer Kraftstoffe

By means of scenarios the possible effects of alternative powertrain systems and fuels on the cumulative CO 2 -emissions of the car traffic in Germany are determined. Basis for this are process chain analyses for the supply of the final consumer with conventional and alternative fuels, like LNG, RME, methanol or hydrogen. To complete the integrated view also the use of these fuels in vehicles with combustion engines or fuelcells is regarded. For the purpose of a full life cycle assessment the emissions for the production, maintenance and disposal of the vehicles are included. Progresses in conventional powertrain systems and a lower Increase of road traffic will result in decreasing CO 2 -emissions. Further reductions could only be realised by forcing the usage of regenerative energy resources.
