Performance evaluation of two high precision distributed series compensator control

In order to control the D-FACTS effectively and maintain high efficiency of the novel D-FACTS, high precision of the compensation voltage of each DSC is required. High precision DSC control can be achieved with Proportion-Resonance controller in stationary frame or Proportion-Integration controller in DQ frame. These two controllers are designed and implemented in both MATLAB/SIMULINK and experiment. Steady-state and transient performance are evaluated and discussed, respectively. DQ frame PI controller shows shorter settling time, while stationary frame PR controller shows higher harmonics components and lower THD.
