Study on 3GPP IP multimedia subsystem

This paper mainly introduces the network architecture,QoS and services of IP multimedia subsystem of 3GPP release 5.The function of each network entity is described and how it adopts the SIP of IETF.Also the key requirement-QoS of IP network is discussed in detail.Finally,the services which can be carried on IM subsystem are simply discussed.
