Prospects for Molecular Electronics

Abstract The great variety of structure and properties of molecular materials provides a basis for current and future applications in electronics and optoelectronics. The scope of molecular electronics is defined in terms of the historical development of the science and technology of molecular materials. The prospects for progress based on recent experimental, and conceptual advances is discussed.
