Iterative Feedback Tuning in Fuzzy Control Systems. Theory and Applications

The paper deals with both theoretical and application aspects concerning Iterative Feedback Tuning (IFT) algorithms in the design of a class of fuzzy control systems employing Mamdani-type PI-fuzzy controllers. The presentation is focused on two- degree-of-freedom fuzzy control system structures resulting in one design method. The stability analysis approach based on Popov's hyperstability theory solves the convergence problems associated to IFT algorithms. The suggested design method is validated by real- time experimental results for a fuzzy controlled nonlinear DC drive-type laboratory equipment.
