On the explicit, purely analytic solution of Von Kármán swirling viscous flow

Abstract A new analytic method for highly nonlinear problems, namely the homotopy analysis method, is applied to solve the Von Karman swirling viscous flow, governed by a set of two fully coupled differential equations with strong nonlinearity. An explicit, purely analytic and uniformly valid solution is given, which agrees well with numerical results.
