Magnetic Resistance Analysis Based on the Finite Element Method.

As is well known, conventional magnetic circuit theory makes it possible to analyze three-dimensional magnetic fields, even though the theoretical background is based on engineering experience. On the other hand, finite element method has a firm theoretical background but it is too computationally expensive to implement three-dimensional analysis of them. To carry out three-dimensional magnetic field analysis in the most efficient manner, we propose the theory of modern magnetic circuits based on finite element method. This makes it possible to implement quasi-three-dimensional magnetic field computations quite efficiently. A simple example demonstrates not only the usefulness but also the efficiency of our new methodology.
