A flexible 8-channel data acquisition device for signal processing and analysis

A flexible data acquisition and bit-serial, signal processing device has been designed, fabricated, and demonstrated. The device digitizes analog signals from up to 8 sensors, operates on the digital representations of these signals in accordance with a downloaded program, stores the results in on-chip memory, and communicates these data to an external device such as a microprocessor. The device was designed for the measurement of current, voltage, power, harmonic content, and line frequency, as well as waveform analysis and system control in electrical systems.<<ETX>>
