Power-efficient connection provisioning with traffic splitting in IP over WDM networks

We investigate how traffic splitting can be exploited for power-efficient connection provisioning in optical networks. We propose an algorithm for determining the most power-efficient Label-Switched Path (LSP) for a connection. A comparative study shows that traffic-splitting-enabled networks consume less power than non-traffic-splitting networks.
