The Numerical Analysis of the Joint of the Steel Beam to the Timber Girder

Abstract The results of the numerical analysis of a joint of the steel beam to the timber girder are presented in the paper. The main aim of the work is to show the application of the commercial software based on the finite element method to obtain the stress distribution of bolted joints. Many geometrical bodies are defined to create the complex model. It means that the contacts between the bodies have to be applied to satisfy the interaction of the parts. As a result, the way of the modelling has to be planned carefully to do it effectively.
