Distribution of peak wind loads on a low-rise building

Abstract A multi-channel pressure measurement system was used to compute instantaneous values of total loads and load effects on a model of a low-rise building in a wind tunnel. In addition the instantaneous pressure distributions producing the peak loads and effects were preserved using a conditional sampling technique. Considerable variation in these instantaneous pressure distributions was found, suggesting that if a single distribution is used for design, it must be a conservative one for most effects.
