A conferencing spread spectrum radio

This paper presents the design of a compact, short range, conferencing direct sequence spread spectrum radio for applications in both specialized and commercial communications. The design aims to be simple to achieve low cost. Conferencing is achieved through packetisation of digitised speech which allows time division multiple access. There is no time slot allocation scheme but collision avoidance of the packets is achieved through sensing of incoming packets. Direct sequence spread spectrum is used to enhance system robustness and to cater for future implementation of CDMA.<<ETX>>
