Apparatus and method for taking panoramic photograph

A panorama photographing apparatus and a method therefor are provided to solve a problem in which it is difficult to fit the height of a boundary of a photo peripheral part because a rotary axis is twisted when a user photographs a panorama photo by using a camera of a mobile communication terminal or a digital camera. A camera module(110) has a lens and photographs an object. A storing unit(120) stores photos photographed in the camera module(110). A picture display unit(130) displays the photos stored in the storing unit(120) and provides a preview function in a photographing mode. An angular velocity sensor(150) senses the rotation of the lens and outputs an angular velocity according to the sensed rotation of the lens. A rotary angle calculating unit(160) receives the angular velocity from the angular velocity sensor(150) and calculates a rotary angle corresponding to the received angular velocity. A control unit(140) receives the rotary angle from the rotary angle calculating unit(160) and judges a photographing possible interval of a panorama photo.
