MODELOS PARA DETERMINAÇÃO DO MÓDULO DE ELASTICIDADE DE LIGAS METÁLICAS UTILIZANDO ENSAIOS DE PENETRAÇÃO INSTRUMENTADA

The aim of this study is to present two methodologies to determine the elastic modulus (E) by means of instrumented indentation tests. To validate the models, tests were performed on Aluminum 6061 alloy, for aged (T6) and supersaturated solid solution (SSS) conditions, using a spherical indenter (IIT-SI). The values of elastic modulus were calculated using these methodologies, one based on the loading data and another following the unloading curve in function of indentation depth. The quality of the experimental data was also evaluated by routine calculations proposed in these models. The obtained results for SSS specimen were closer to the literature values than those obtained for the T6 specimen. This result could be attributed to the test system, which was sensitive to the T6 specimen hardness.
