Quantitative analysis of transient angle stability for grid-connected inverter considering droop coefficient

The droop control method has been widely used in inverter-dominated power system. While the transient stability problem is becoming more prominent under this condition. The transient process of droop-controlled inverter is complex and as a consequence accurate analysis of transient stability is difficult. This paper proposes a quantitative criterion called dissipation character equal area criterion (DCEAC) for droop-controlled inverter's transient angle stability analysis. In this criterion, the complex transient process including droop coefficient's influence and current limitation are considered. As a consequent, the mentioned criterion can get more accurate results than conventional method. Simulation results verified the theoretical findings.
