Study on the impact of the 300 km/h series high-speed special railway on the grid power quality

The rapid development of electrified railway network has exerted broad effect on the electrical network. The running of new high speed electric locomotives which use AC-DC-AC type of drive system makes the influence of the electric railway load on the electrical network present new features. With the actual tests data in substation, this paper researches the impact of 350 km/h high-speed passenger line on the grid power quality respectively from harmonics, negative sequence and unbalance, voltage fluctuation, etc on the basis of analyzing of CRH2C electric locomotive model and the work principle. Different from traditional AC-DC electric locomotive,high-speed passenger line which widely uses CRH AC electric locomotive has the characteristics such as rich high harmonic current frequency spectrum and remarkable negative sequence influence. In addition,in view of high-speed passenger line load characteristic and its impact on the grid, this paper analyzes several commonly used power quality control measures at present and gives corresponding recommendations.
