A Novel Component Carrier Selection and Collision Avoidance Scheme in Femtocell Networks

In recent years, femtocells, which could enhance the indoor coverage, have attracted widely attention. The interference among femtocells is not ignorable when the deployment is extremely dense. In this paper, a novel component carrier selection scheme, which includes two algorithms, i.e. BCCS (Basic Component Carrier Selection) algorithm and ECCS (Enhance Component Carrier Selection) algorithm, is proposed in the femtocell networks with carrier aggregation. A solution is also given when multiple HeNBs choose the same component carrier which would cause severe interference between femtocells. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme could not only improve the SINR of UE but also increase the throughput of femtocells.
