Simulation Evaluation of Random Access Control for Pedestrian ITS in Intersection Scenario

In this paper, the authors simulated pedestrian-to-vehicle random access communication on intersection scenario. The authors proposed transmission control by Carrier Sense with Busy tone and the transmission control method of 2 Step NAV Broadcast. In the simulation result, the thing that the influence of the collision by the existence of the hidden terminal problem was able to be reduced by these two techniques was shown. The transmission control method by Carrier Sense with Busy tone improves the performance approximately 40% from np-CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access). And the transmission control method by 2 Step NAV Broadcast improves the performance approximately of 70% from np-CSMA.
