An IMS-Based Testbed for Service Innovations

In this paper, we introduce an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) based testbed which provides a platform for service innovations. This open-source based testbed is built on the principle of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), whereby system functionalities such as bandwidth management and video streaming are packaged as interoperable services, so that service providers can combine and reuse them through standard interfaces. A demonstration of new service creation through composition of the basic service components will also be reported herein.
