A High-Capacity GEO Bentpipe Broadband Access Satellite System Using W-Band

W-band is attractive for fixed-satellite services; however, it is still in the experimental stage. Designing a high-capacity satellite system at such a high-frequency band presents many challenges, as it is a non-linear multi-dimensional optimization problem. In this paper, we propose a GEO bentpipe W-band satellite system—capable of providing users with small terminals and high-speed access, while meeting capacity and performance requirements.
