On Completing Tables to Satisfy Functional Dependencies

Abstract Several sufficiency conditions on a given set of functional dependencies are presented to ensure that a partially-specified table can be extended to a completely-specified table satisfying the dependencies. In particular, each table over a minimal key can be extended to such a table (over the entire attribute set).
