Management of Premenstrual Syndrome

Abstract Premenstrual syndrome is one of the most common gynaecological ailments. Despite its prevalence and perhaps because of its heterogeneity in symptoms, more than half the women are undiagnosed and poorly managed. There have been multiple medical, surgical and alternative therapies evaluated and this provides a summary of the evidence and a practical management strategy to be implemented in women with this condition.
