An analysis on the efficient applicability of the land readjustment (LR) method in Turkey

Abstract The land readjustment (LR) method is applied efficiently and successfully in developed countries like Japan, Germany and France as well as in developing countries in the Far East. In contrast to these countries, the LR method cannot be efficiently applied in Turkey despite a long background of these models and a vast accumulation of experience. The efficient application of the LR method is contingent upon the availability of some basic conditions. In this paper, the basic conditions for its successful and efficient application are defined within the framework of international literature. The LR method in Turkey is analysed within the context of these basic conditions.
