Experimental studies on NO_x emission performance of a microturbine combustor

the combustor is one of the most important elements, the performance of which exerts a vital influence upon the overall performance of the microturbine. With the enhancement of environmental awareness and the increasingly stringent environmental regulations,it has become an important topic to control emission of pollutants from combustors. In this paper, studies on a microturbine combustor were carried out,and the effects of the excess air coefficient, temperature and load on the emission of pollutants were analyzed. The results indicated that the concentration of NOx emissions decreases with the increase of excess air coefficient. The high flame temperature and the long residence time support NOx formation.NOx and CO emissions reduce under higher load.
