Practical Method of Optimization of Cable Tensions for Cable-stayed Bridges

It's very important in the design of cable-stayed bridges to find out the optimum cable tensions under dead loads and opinions diverge from each other. After a careful review of existing methods of optimization of cable tensions for cable-stayed bridges, the authors think that influence matrix method is perfect theoretically. In order to popularize it in design practice, a practical method of optimization of cable tensions was developed on the basis of the theory of influence matrix method. This practical method was not only proved theoretically but also validated practically. It can be used easily and multi-scheme selecting is realized. It is suitable for preliminary design especially.
