The Research on Life-signal Detection Based on Short-time Fourier Transform

The terahertz (THz) wave has the superior Doppler characteristics since it has shorter wavelength than microwave and millimeter wave (MMW). As a result, in recent years, the detection of micro-motion by means of the terahertz radar has attracted researchers' enormous interest. In this paper, a 0.22 THz radar system is built and the detection of life-signal with it is presented. Based on short-time Fourier transform (STFT), the life-signal is acquired under different breathing states. From the experimental results, the proposed method's performance is demonstrated.
