The Inhibition of Vitamin E (α- tocopherol ) Antioxidant to Superoxide Radical Reactive Oxygen Species (O2.-) Production on the White Rat (Rattus norvegicus)Stressed by an Electric Shock

The research was done to prove the inhibition of antioxidant vitamin E (α- tocopherol) 400 IU to superoxide radical reactive oxygen spesies (O2) production on the white rats (Rattus norvegicus ) serum stressed by an electric shocks. There were twenty one Wistar males divided into three groups ( P0, P1 and P2). P0 (control) was given 3 ml drug solution, P1 was given a stressor and 3 ml drug solution. P2 was given a stressor and vitamin E emulsion. The treatment were done every day for 14 days. The serum blood of each treatment was carried out at day fourteen and were examined for radical superoxide (O2) level. It could be concluded that 3ml vitamin E (α- tocopherol) 400 IU could decrease the Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) radical superoxide on the rats stressed by an electric shock.
