In the background of global warming and large energy consumption and rapid growth trend of building material industry in China,CO2 emission calculation method and CO2 reduction strategies of building materials were studied.Firstly,using the evaluation method of IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories,the unit CO2 emissions of major fossil fuels were obtained.Furthermore,according to the characteristics of energy consumption statistic in China,carbon emission coefficient of the standard coal was achieved,as well as the CO2 emission and its variation trend of the unit electric energy generated.And then,based on the above discussion and statistical material,the calculation method for CO2 emission during the building material production period that suitable for Chinese situation was provided.Finally,for the current situation of much higher comprehensive energy consumption of building material in China that compared with the developed countries,the strategies for lowering the unit and the total CO2 emission of building material were proposed.
