A new method on shadow and layover detection of InSAR

The phenomena of shadow and layover are two difficult problems of InSAR processing, and they will badly destroy the phase continuity of InSAR and put obstacles in phase unwrapping processing. Seeing about the shortcoming of traditional shadow and layover detection methods which take advantages of amplitude image and correlation coefficient image, a new method based on local frequency estimation, amplitude division and morphological image processing is proposed. The results of simulation experiment show that the method proposed in this paper can detect the regions of shadow and layover exactly and quickly.
