Towards secure interaction in agent societies

Modern workflow management systems driven by multi-agents lack proper security mechanisms. In an agent based workflow system, the resource agents that perform various tasks can form societies. The communication between agents belonging to a particular society should be secure. In this paper we propose mechanisms to authenticate the communication between agents in particular concentrating on the interactions in multi-agent based workflow societies using Public Key Infrastructure.
