APPLICATIONS OF TWO COSTAL PRETECTION STRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION METHODS

Two methods that can be used for the construction of costal protection structures are introduced in this paper. The first is the geotextile bag method which uses either sand or clay to fill geotextile tubes or bags to form dikes or breakwaters. The second is to a method for using prefabricated semicircular reinforced concrete caissons to construct offshore dikes or structures on soft soil. Two case studies are presented to illustrate the applications of the two methods.
